May 17-20 MSU Texas will host the North Texas Senior Games May 17-20. The games will provide an outlet for those age 50 and older to maintain healthy lifestyles and social relationships. Events include basketball, billiards, bowling, dominoes/42, cycling (5k, 10k, 20k time trials), golf, horseshoes, pickleball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and washers. June 4 University offices will begin the four-day workweek with office hours of 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Offices will be closed on Fridays through July 26.
June 4-28 In partnership with the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts & Culture, the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU Texas will host the summer art camp “Literacy through Photography” for students age 11-15. This camp offers a cross-disciplinary approach that will combine visual literacy training, photography, and writing. Students will sharpen their photography skills, and use their images (film-based and digital) as inspiration for interactive writing assignments. Students will also study the photography collection of the WFMA. The camp will culminate in a public exhibition of the students’ original artworks. The camp will be 9 a.m.-noon Monday through Thursday for four weeks, June 4-28. Cost is $10 per student, and cameras will be provided. Deadline for registration is Friday, May 18.
