On 10.27.2018 from 5-10PM, 9th Street Studios & Potencia Projects bring Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) to Travis Street in Downtown Wichita Falls.  This cultural celebration is made possible by The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts & Culture.

Tickets are $5 (early bird) and $7 on the day of the event (children 12 & Under are free).  Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.9thstreetstudios.com/new-products/los-muertos-a-celebration-of-life or in person at 9th Street Studios, Carneceria Los Cuates and The Stone Palace.

Featured entertainment include an Aztec Performance by Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli – A Dallas Based Group.  With the hope of local artists and several volunteer groups the festival area (between 8th & 9th Street) will be transformed into an authentic Day of the Dead celebration with an emphasis on the “Altar” area.  A mariachi group from Denton will be serenading throughout the evening.  The altar are is a partnership with Hospice of Wichita Falls and will include a community altar that anyone can place a picture of their deceased loved ones that they would like to celebrate.  Individual/Family altars require registration and a $25 that will be donated to Hospice.  Registration information can be found on the Facebook Page @LosMuertosWF.

The evening will include authentic food, local dance performances and a variety of specialty handmade products; pinatas, boots, clothing.  Festival goers are encouraged to dress in traditional Day of the Dead attire.
