Hello Dolly, one of the biggest shows currently on Broadway, is being staged in the 2018 Season at the Wichita Theatre. The 1964 musical follows the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi (a strong-willed matchmaker), as she travels to Yonkers, New York, to find a match for the miserly “well-known unmarried half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder. In doing so she convinces his niece, his niece’s intended, and Horace’s two clerks to travel to New York City.
For the first time ever, we are welcoming Wichitan and Broadway performer Susan Mansur Bahr as Dolly Levi. Bahr originated the role of Doatsy May in the original Broadway hit Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1978).
